Dan Shanahan says that he hasn't put his hat in the ring for the vacant Waterford hurling position but would like to return to the inter county scene at some point in the future.

The 2007 hurler of the year wants to focus on his club commitments with Lismore and St Mary's for now; "to be honest I'm happy with what I'm doing at the moment like, I haven't discussed anything I think the Co. Board must get their backroom team sorted first, I know what's in this county and I believe in the players in this county, you don't become a bad team overnight, from the bottom of my heart I know we have the players to compete with these lads who are out there next Sunday".

He thinks that Kilkenny will bring manic aggression to Sunday's All Ireland final against Tipperary at Croke Park

He says that there's big battles in store all over the field.
