David Brady says that the Mayo management team didn't know that the players had planned to warm-up in front of Hill 16 before the 2006 All Ireland semi final against Dublin. A late Ciaran McDonald point gave them a famous 1-16 to 2-12 victory.

Manager Mickey Moran wasn't impressed by the mill at the Hill however. "They hadn't an idea about what was about to occur," Brady recalled. "We were probably better off because he was incensed and disgusted. Mickey was put out."

His assistant John Morrison enjoyed the chaos that ensued even though he received a heavy shoulder from Dubs boss Paul Caffrey. "John Morrison, the character that he was and the mind games that he played, was overjoyed. I know for a fact that he was disgusted he didn't think of it himself!"

Balls were flying everywhere as both teams prepared the same end of the field. "It was absolute mayhem. On that day 35 balls were kicked into Hill 16 or kicked at each other! Our dietician got knocked out in the head. I don't know who it was but Alan Brogan was behind it! It wasn't a place for the faint-hearted because you didn't know what was going to spark off. Myself and Brian Talty squared up to each other."

Brady isn't worried about the quick turnaround for James Horan's men on Saturday evening. "I tell you now if anyone in their right mind thinks that Mayo haven't prepared for this Dublin team over the past twelve months, they're sadly mistaken."
