Dungarvan put themselves in the frame for an automatic quarter final with a 26 point victory over fourteen man Clonea in the curtain raiser at Fraher Field (2-31 to 1-8).
Ryan Donnelly and Patrick Curran struck 2-17 between them as 12 different players got on the scoresheet. Sean Clancy netted a late consolation goal for Clonea before he was sent off.
Long serving defender Jamie Nagle dedicated the win to the late Jim Dee; "Jim has been a huge part of our club for many years and he's been a great servant to the county senior team as well, considering that his son is manager of the team of course it was for him and hopefully we can play well throughout the year in his memory".
Jamie says they had a good spread of scores this afternoon.
Great win on a sad weekend for the club, well done to Dermot, Jimbob and all the team

Evan McGrath shot 1-9 in the absence of Austin Gleeson as Mount Sion beat Fourmilewater 2-19 to 2-11. County man Stephen Roche chipped in with four points from midfield.
It wasn't enough to qualify for the quarter finals however as a last minute penalty from goalkeeper Stephen Enright gave Abbeyside a share of the spoils against Roanmore in Carrickbeg. (2-10 to 0-16) Peter Queally's side progress to the last eight as group winners.
Mount Sion's eight point win wasn't enough to catch Dungarvan as best runners-up. They fell just a point short.
John Meaney was still pleased to pick up their second win.
