Waterford's Brian O'Halloran has retired from inter-county hurling.
The 28-year-old spent a decade on the Deise panel, winning a Munster title in 2010 and the National Hurling League in 2015.
The Clashmore/Kinsalebeg man was brought into the senior set up by Davy Fitzgerald, but was plagued with injuries in the early part of his senior career.
From 2015 on Brian's injuries cleared up and he was one of the Deise's point scorers in the 2017 All-Ireland final against Galway.
Brian says
"It was a disappointing day but when you get to play in all-Ireland final and get to score that is something you dream of. It was disappointing on a lot of levels, but it was a special day then reflecting back".
O'Halloran started in Waterford's defeat to Cork last weekend where their Championship campaign came to an end.
Brian says he's retiring now purely for personal reasons:
"I feel my time is done now more than anything. I've my 10th year done...There's no big reason, I decided around Christmastime and I'm sticking it to now."
The primary school teacher says he's looking forward to dedicating himself to his club now.
