Meet Irish World Track Cyclist, Mia Griffin and how she's thriving on the world stage

Mia Griffin, from Glenmore in Co. Kilkenny has recently returned from the World Track Cycling Championships in Pruszkow, Poland where her Irish Women's Team Pursuit Squad broke the Irish Team Pursuit Record over 4km in a time of 4.29.14 minutes knocking more than 2.5 Seconds off the existing Irish Record set in 2015.
Mia and her Irish Team finished 10th out of 17 of the World's strongest Teams. Their goal is to qualify for the Tokyo Olympics in August 2020.
Mia is currently home from competition and Mallorca where she lives and trains before she departs for the Manchester 6 day Track Cycling event at the end of March.
Mia receives no funding or Sponsorship, her Mum comes from Lisduggan and her siblings currently represent Waterford FC and Waterford U15 School girls there is a strong Deise connection, and Mia dropped into studio to chat to Gavin Whelan on Saturday's 'On The Ball' Sports show, listen back on the below link:
