Rory Feely, the 2018 Young Player of the year, has re-signed for Waterford FC.

The 22 year old joined the club from St Patrick's Athletic at the beginning of last season.

The former Tramore AFC player made 30 appearances for the club this year in defence, midfield and attack.

It follows Friday's announcement of the signing of Shane Duggan from Limerick and the news that Cory Galvin will also be remaining with the club for the 2019 season.

Speaking to WaterfordFC.ie after re-singing, Feely said: "I’m absolutely delighted to re-sign for next season. I’ve been speaking to Rennie and I had to sort a few college things but I’m delighted to get it done and sorted.

"Last season was a really successful season for us and it was nothing more than we deserved I think. We had a fantastic dressing room last season and morale was brilliant to be around. The fans drove us on and it was a thoroughly enjoyable season overall.

"I’m really looking forward to getting going and meeting up with all the players again it's a top pro setup and with the facilities there, it was always my first choice to re-sign. Rennie was so good to me last season with college and working around that, so it was an easy decision to stay."

Speaking to WaterfordFC.ie after securing the re-signing, manager Alan Reynolds said:

"It’s great to get Rory signed for next season. He played a big role last season and he’s an excellent, young player.

"He played in a number of different positions and really complimented the style we played. He brings a lot of energy to the side and we’re delighted he’s re-signed for the season."
