Waterford coaching officer MacDara MacDonncha has said that he is still open to talks with former Waterford minor football manager Tom Flynn about the position for next year.

Flynn stepped down on Thursday following a dispute over dual players.

According to Waterford GAA, once the minor panels are finalised in January the county board officers plan to meet the players, parents & management to put in place an agreement regarding training plans for dual players.

MacDara MacDonncha told WLR's Tomás McCarthy on Lár Na Pairce that he is willing to discuss the issues with the outgoing management team.

"Anytime I have been rung on issues I've been perfectly willing to meet people and discuss things. And that's the best way to do it, around the table, looking each other in the eye, not through the platform of social media."

He added that dual players trained with both panels last weekend because the hurling management wasn't supplied with a football squad.
