St Josephs Miltown Malbay advanced to their first Munster senior Club football final at the expense of The Nire in atrocious conditions at Fraher Field this afternoon.
The Clare champions had their homework done and took the game to the home side right from the first whistle.
Miltown held a 0-9 to 0-5 lead at the interval with Kieran Malone, and Colin Heihr on target.
Cormac Murray and Sean Malone netted second half goals as the Clare champions set up a provincial showdown with Dr Crokes on November 25.
Nire selector Justin Walsh admitted that they were below par.
He felt that Tom Barron was denied a certain penalty seven minutes from the end.
He was disappointed at conceding 22 frees in the second half.
Today wasn't to be our day! Best of luck to @MiltownGAA in the Munster final 👍 we bow out of Munster as proud county champions. An uidhir abú 💙💛 pic.twitter.com/esP8WmTV4e
