Abbeyside are seeking their first senior hurling title in this afternoon's county final against five in a row chasing Ballygunner at Fraher Field.

The Gunners have been hugely impressive in their march to yet decider and recorded a facile win over Passage two weeks ago

Abbeyside are back in the their first decider since 2008 and they edged out De La Salle 0-14 to 0-13 in their semi-final

Villagers Manager Peter Queally felt that they produced their best display of the season against De La Salle two weeks ago.

He told WLR Sport that they need to be more clinical if they are to pull off a surprise result this afternoon.

Queally played alongside Fergal Hartley for Waterford during the nineties and noughties and admired his performance in the 2002 Munster final.

Ballygunner are bidding for a record fifth title in a row and will be confident coming into the decider.

Gunners boss Fergal Hartley says they've handled the favourites tag well in recent seasons.

Fergal told WLR Sport Abbeyside have some fine players particularly up front.

Fergal says joint-captain Shane O' Sullivan has a solid season at centre field.

The action is underway at 3:30pm, WLR will bring you all the action live thanks to George Corbett Skoda with commentary team of Kieran O' Connor and Dan Shanahan.

Today's curtain raiser sees Ballinameela and Tramore go head to head in the Junior A Hurling County Final with that one underway at 1:15pm. Tomás McCarthy will have updates here on WLR.
