All eyes will be on Waterford's Thomas Barr at 7:15 pm this evening as the Ferrybank man takes his place in lane 8 of the 400 metre hurdles Final at the European Championships in Berlin.

Thomas put in a strong performance finishing second in 49-point-10 seconds in Tuesday's semi-final.

It will be an awkward draw in the furthest outside lane, lane eight, for Thomas in tonight's Final but something he doesn't think should affect him that much after he spoke after the semi  "Yeah I look forward to it, I've raced in every lane at a Championships, lane eight is no different to lane nine in Bejing two or three years ago, so look it is a bit of a shame I don't have somebody outside me to chase but look it is what it is, I'm through to a final, I'm not going to complain"

Meanwhile, Leon Reid also goes for gold in the final of the 200 metres.

English born Reid can become the first Irish sprinter to win a medal at the Championship, just days after the confirmation of his international transfer.
