Waterford and Monaghan set to clash in second round of the All-Ireland SFC Qualifiers tomorrow

Déise midfielder Tommy Prendergast is relishing the challenge of taking on Monaghan in the second round of the All-Ireland Senior Football Qualifiers this Saturday.

The Ulster side who suffered a shock defeat to Fermanagh in the Provincial Championship are expected to bring plenty of support to Dungarvan.

Waterford bounced back from their Munster Quarter-Final defeat to Tipperary by defeating Wexford in the opening round of the Qualifiers following a most impressive team display.

Speaking to WLR Sport, the experienced Tommy Prendergast says the Wexford victory was a huge boost for football in the county.

Tommy is hoping to see all the local supporters to come along and cheer on the team on Saturday.

Tommy says it's important the team approach the game with confidence.
