Despite a late come back, Waterford's Footballers were beaten by league leaders Carlow in Division 4 of the National Football League at WIT Arena earlier today.
Goals from Gavin Crotty and Paul White both scored in injury time saw Waterford stage a late fight but it was not to be and the Deise lost on a scoreline of 2-12 to 2-09.
Elsewhere there was better news for Kilmacthomas who were crowned Munster C Football Champions after they beat Ennistymon on a scoreline of 2-7 to 1-8 in Limerick today.
There was also success for Waterford's Minor Camogie side who opened their All Ireland A Championship campaign with a win over Limerick. That game finished Waterford 0-18, Limerick 3-3.
