Shona Curran has been part of the Waterford camogie squad since 2008. She didn't hesitate when new manager Derek Lyons asked her back for 2021.
"After speaking to him the first time on the phone, it was a no brainer for me. We feel as a panel that there's huge potential and a bit of unfinished business for a lot of us. When Derek came in and the set-up that he was talking about putting in and the plan for the year and the years ahead, it didn't take me long to sign back up! Delighted to be involved. There's great ambition within the panel."
Waterford will be looking for their first win of the season when they welcome Cork to Walsh Park on Saturday at 2 o'clock in Division 1 of the National League. The Déise went down to Tipperary by 11 points last weekend and Curran says that they paid the price for a slow start. "We were disappointed with the start, we conceded a goal straight away from the throw in. We chased the game from that moment on. We came back in the second half but we know ourselves that it wasn't up to the standard that's needed."
