Russell Rovers won their first Munster junior hurling title this afternoon at a windswept Fraher Field as they got the better of Waterford champions St Mary's 2-13 to 0-11 after a bruising battle.
Man of the match Josh Beausang scored 1-8, including a first minute goal, while Brian Harnett raised a second green flag eight minutes from the end.
It was all square at half time (1-4 to 0-7) as Eoin Kearns hit five points for St Mary's with Sean Fitzpatrick and Dermot Tobin also on target.
Kevin Sheehan gave the Touraneena men the lead for the first time within 70 seconds of the restart but seven wind assisted points from Beausang secured provincial glory for the East Cork side.
