A first Conway Cup in twenty years has captured the imagination of Rathgormack according to manager Ger Power.
"For breakfast, dinner and supper, it's the main topic of conversation. If anybody comes into a farmyard here, doing deliveries or collecting milk, it's the main topic of conversation; in every farmyard and in every household. It's a very important part of people's lives here."
The celebrations on that Sunday evening will live long in the memory. "It was fantastic. Jim Kirwan, the local farmer, lined up the tractor and the same trailer that we had back in 1995. We got a phone call after the match to say that this was lined up. We parked the cars down at the creamery, the same as 1995, and it brought back great memories. We all got in. We drove slowly up through the village and we had a big parade behind us with all the children."
The green and red enter the Munster championship on Sunday away to Clare champions St. Joseph's Miltown Malbay. Throw in is at 1.30.
