Waterford's Thomas Barr is in action at 6.35 pm in the first heat of a total of five in the 400 metres hurdles, drawn in lane 6.
Four from each heat plus the four fastest losers will go through to Saturday's semi finals.

If on his best form Thomas should progress, his main opponents to day are the World Champion Karsten Warholm (Norway), Amere Lattin (USA) along with Jamica's Kemar Mowatt.
