Waterford players in action in Fitzgibbon Cup semi-final

Abbeyside's Michael Kiely and Clonea's Billy Power will be in Fitzgibbon Cup semi-final action this evening when the University of Limerick take on IT Carlow.

Both men were in good form for the Limerick college in last week's quarter-final win over the Munster Technological University with Kiely chipping in 1-2 and Power also grabbing a point.

Tonight's winners will face NUIG in the final on Saturday, after they saw off their Galway neighbours GMIT by 1-26 to 3-18 after extra time yesterday, with Evan Niland hitting a whopping 0-16.

IT Carlow will be the home team tonight, they battled through to the semis with a convincing six-point win over reigning champions, UCC, who had Waterford's Iarlaith Daly at full-back.
