There was a sense of relief as well as satisfaction when the final whistle went at Dungarvan GAA Grounds on Sunday afternoon last as Waterford recorded their first win in Division 1 of the Lidl Ladies Football National league.

Goals either side of half-time from Lauren McGregor handed Waterford a hard fought 2-9 to 0-13 victory, the hosts were 1-6 to 0-4 ahead at half-time.

Waterford have now four points from their opening three games, having lost narrowly to Kerry in the opening round and drawing with Cork in Round 2.

It's a trip to Donegal up next for Pat Sullivan's charges in Round 4 on February 19th.
