De La Salle and Waterford ace Beth Carton has been crowned the overall winner of the WLR & Granville Hotel GAA Awards for 2022.
This is the third year straight that Beth has won the overall award, making her the first person to ever do it.
The now three-time All-Star was a force to be reckoned with for Waterford in the camogie championship shooting 2 goals and 45 points.
She notched 8 points in the historic win over Tipperary, and would then go on to hit 1.6 in back-to-back games against Clare and Limerick.
For her club, Carton was immense in the county final against Gaultier, as they claimed their first-ever senior title.
Playing in Munster, De La Salle came close to beating Drom and Inch in the semi-final. They forced the defending champions to extra time, falling just short of making the Munster final.
The other 2022 monthly winners who were in the running last night were Billy O'Keeffe, Dessie Hutchinson, Michael Kiely, Stephen Bennett, Patrick Curran, Lorraine Bray, Niamh Rockett, Tommy Ryan, Stephen O'Keeffe, Keely Corbett Barry, and Sinéad Kenrick.

Kevin Casey Emerging Star Award
The first award of the evening was the Kevin Casey Emerging Star Award, first introduced in 2018.
It is awarded each year to a boy or girl aged between 14 and 18 years, in memory of WLR's late Sports Editor, Kevin Casey, following his untimely death in 2017.
This year's recipient was Ballygunner attacker, Patrick Fitzgerald.
The teenager lit up the Munster Club Championship in 2022, scoring 3-09 in three outings, as the Gunners won back-to-back provincial titles.
The corner forward was named Man of the Match against Kilruane MacDonaghs and Ballyea, after shooting 1-4 in both games.
Patrick finished his first senior club season with 4-17 from play.
The awards ceremony in the Granville Hotel was presented by WLR's Nigel Kelly and Damien Tiernan.
