Voted the best 10 mile road race in the country, the well renowned John Treacy Dungarvan 10 miler takes centre stage on Sunday morning next (February 4th).
Just under 4,000 runners will descend on the West Waterford town with the race commencing on the Youghal road at 11am.
The event which is now in it's 31st year has gained massive traction over the years and 2023 is no different with a great buzz around the town over the whole weekend, which happens to be the Bank Holiday as well.
There will be a small bit of congestion at the start line (11am on the Youghal road outside the Amber Garage) so motorists are asked to be vigilant, the event will be stewarded throughout with ample viewing opportunities for patrons as well.
Sunday promises to be a massive day for Dungarvan with the 10 mile road, Waterford hurlers playing Dublin in Fraher Field (opening round of the Allianz NHL) and the Waterford ladies taking on Mayo in Dungarvan club grounds (Rd. 3 of the Lidl National league), the two will be buzzing!
James Veale is PRO of West Waterford AC, he spoke to Gavin Whelan on Monday evening's "On The Ball" to look ahead to Sunday's big event, here's wishing all involved the very best of luck!
