A Waterford road safety campaigner has made an impassioned appeal for improved road safety on the 15th anniversary of her son's death.

A major Road Safety Authority and An Garda Siochana campaign is underway this October Bank Holiday Weekend - with road fatalities so far this year almost at 150.

Christina Donnelly's son Brendan was killed by a drunk driver in a road traffic collision during the 2009 October Bank Holiday Weekend in East Cork.

Speaking to WLR News on his anniversary, Christina said she is continuously shocked by the speeding and bad behaviour which she witnesses on our roads.
