The Fianna Fáil party in Waterford held its selection convention for the next General Election at Lawlor's Hotel in Dungarvan last night.
Minister for Mental Health and Older People Mary Butler was chosen as the party's sole candidate in the constituency after a vote among members in which she received 135 votes.
Councillor Adam Wyse received 35 votes.
The convention was chaired by MEP for Ireland South Billy Kelleher.
