Jim Thompson of Woodhouse is opening the grounds of his beautiful estate in Stradbally once again this year for the variety concert staged by Dungarvan Men's Shed, which takes place on Tuesday June 13th.

It follows another recent event held at the estate as part of the Blackwater Valley Opera Festival - the first time the festival included an event in Mid-County Waterford.

Businessman Jim recently received permission to develop a cafe in Stradbally's former Garda Station.

Jim spends much of his year in Hong Kong, but WLR caught up with him and his wife Sally at Woodhouse recently and heard about why they are so keen to be involved within the local community.
