Britain's Prince Charles and his wife Camilla the Duchess of Cornwall, paid a visit to Waterford today as part of Queen Elizabeth's platinum jubilee year.

They arrived at a warm welcome along the Quay in the city, where they visited a selection of the city's museums and the House of Waterford Crystal.

The mayor of the city Cllr Joe Kelly officially welcomed the couple to Waterford along with the CEO of Waterford Council Michael Walsh, Junior Government Minister Mary Butler, and Director of Waterford Museum of Treasures Eamon McEneany.

In a speech at City Hall, The Prince of Wales so spoke about the difficult two years of the Pandemic, the technological university for the South East, and the Ukrainian crises.

Throughout the day the couple went their separate ways visiting GIY, Fitzgerald's farm in Portlaw, and Cheltenham Gold Cup Winning trainer Henry de Bromhead's stables in Knockeen.
