An information night was held in Clonea Power last night to discuss plans for a controversial solar farm in the local area.

BNRG is seeking to construct a one hundred and forty one hectare farm in the townlands of Bishopstown, Bridgetown, Ballyhest and Ballyneal.

A public meeting also took place at the same venue last week.

An Bord Pleanala has granted planning permission for the controversial 141 hectare development.

An appeal had been made against the decision by Waterford Council to grant conditional planning permission for the development in May 2023.

An Bord Pleanala confirmed that it upheld the Council’s decision and a total of 23 conditions are detailed in the decision report.
