Waterford City and County Council is going to tender on a scheme for 28 social and affordable houses at Farrangarret in Ardmore  - something which has been described as a 'game changer' for the local area.

Locals have been locked out by a housing crisis in the village and no Council homes have been built in Ardmore in over 20 years.

Last November, Waterford City and County Council launched an expression of interest portal for those interested in an affordable purchase option in Ardmore.

Fianna Fáil Councillor Tom Cronin spoke to WLR's Kieran Foley, welcoming the latest news.
