Waterford sporting history was made in February 2022, when Harry Ruddle's last minute goal made Ballygunner the first ever Waterford team to win the Tommy Moore Cup in the most dramatic fashion imaginable having been two points down with just seconds left.

The final score was Ballygunner 2- 17, Ballyhale Shamrocks 1 - 19.

The match, the win, and in particular the drama of those dying seconds will be part of Waterford hurling folklore for generations to come, and the celebrations that ensued reflect this.
