About Seán Ormonde
Seán, a civil engineer, was born in Dungarvan in 1937, the eldest of his siblings.
His mother was a confectioner who had trained in England and his father was a draper’s assistant.
Unusually, the family had a maid at home to look after them as his mother and father both worked full-time.
He went to school to the Christian Brothers, went on to UCC to do engineering and worked overseas for many years. He also talks about his time working in Africa and in the Middle East.
