Lots of people use January and the new year as an opportunity to reset the clock. Waterford Nutritionist Jemma Kehoe spoke to Maria about some of the ways you can listen to your body and do what's best for you.
Jemma says it's really important that people kick back and enjoy themselves from time to time, and no one should feel bad about that.
Speaking on the Saturday Cafe, she added that there's so much more to health and feeling good than just focusing on weight and our waist bands at this time of the year.
Explore what you want to achieve.. is it better energy? Is it better quality of life? Are you suffering from pain? Do you know that how you're eating isn't suiting your body because you're tuning into it and you just don't feel very well?
Jemma added that when it comes to food, we should focus on nourishing ourselves a little bit better, as opposed to restriction.
On The Saturday Cafe, Maria explored topics such as portion sizes, whether or not we can over-eat fruit, how to avoid 'pendulum thinking' and more.
