The Waterford Massed Bands is the brainchild of Ger O'Brien.  He is well known in Waterford for his charity work,  raising thousands for good causes through the concerts and events he arranges.

In this chat with Maria on The Saturday Cafe,  he talks about his childhood, which influenced his love of music. He also talks about the various jobs he's had and also his own health issues.  He's had a bout of Cancer and suffered several broken bones in a fall on ice a few years ago.

He also talks about the unwavering support of his wife Marea.
