Explore the profound beauty of "The Armed Man," a peace-infused Mass crafted by the talented Welsh composer, Karl Jenkins. Commissioned by the Royal Armouries Museum for the turn of the millennium, this poignant composition serves as a heartfelt dedication to the victims of the Kosovo crisis. It stands as a compelling anti-war masterpiece, drawing inspiration from the rich traditions of the Catholic Mass. Given the current global climate, its themes resonate more poignantly than ever.

Notable works was founded in 2017 by Joe O'Beirne, Lynn Cahill and Liz O'Mahoney. It is a Waterford based choir.

Their aim is to sing large scale orchestral choral works.  first up for them was Messiah by G.F. Handel.  Accompanied by instrumentalists from Musici Ireland  concerts were held in Waterford and Kilkenny. In Spring 2018 they combined with Wexford Festival Singers for a performance of Requiem by G. Fauré.

Joe O'Beirne stopped by Showtime to tell us all about the upcoming concert. It will be part of Wintervals Choral Trail.  The choral trail is a sensational selection of choral events in Waterford. These events are all happening at venues across the city. Naturally they all happen during Wintervals dates.
