A native of Portlaw, County Waterford, Dermot was appointed PR & Communications Manager of Green Acre Marketing in June 2023. He had previously served as Deputy Editor of the Waterford News & Star from June 2019 to May 2023, having worked as reporter, News Editor & Chief Gaelic Games Writer for The Munster Expressfrom 1999 to 2019.
A Dublin Institute of Technology (TU Dublin) Journalism graduate, Dermot has also presented radio programming on both Beat 102-103 (2005-2011) and WLRFM (2017-2018) while contributing to programming on RTE Radio One and Today FM.
Dermot is co-author of three books - 'I'm Fine: Thoughts on Life, Addiciton, Love and Health' with Enda O'Doherty (Red Stripe Press, 2020), 'Kings For One Day: An Autobiography' with Martin Og Morrissey (Hero Books, 2022) and 'Power: A Family Memoir' with Richie Power Jnr and Richie Power Snr (Hero Books, 2023).
