Listen Back to Culture Night on Showtime
Listen Back to Culture Night on Showtime. Jean and Ellenor Upton called in to tell me all about the big plans for Culture Night.
Culture Night / Oíche Chultúir is a national moment, celebrating all that makes up the richness and diversity of Culture in Ireland today, connecting people to cultural activities locally and nationally and aims to open up pathways to ongoing engagement.
An annual, all-island public event which takes place each year on the second last Friday of September, Culture Night / Oíche Chultúir celebrates culture, creativity and the arts and seeks to actively promote the belief that this rich and varied culture is alive, treasured and nurtured in people’s lives, today and every day.
Jean and Ellenor Upton of the Waterford Centre of Music are spearheading a special gig in the City.
It's under the moniker of 'Waterford - The Musical'. It takes place on the stage in the Cultural Quarter on O'Connell Street on Culture Night. The show runs from 8 to 10pm.
Basically it's an evening of music celebrating Waterford's identifying traits.
Expect fun, madness, nostalgia and good old rock and roll featuring Waterford Music Society, Tramore Music Society and Jack Cunningham productions. There is also a host of soloists, choirs and ensembles to entertain you.
