A couple of weeks ago the Waterford Wildcats were handed a blow when their two American recruits, Jazmine Masingill and Miya Clark, left Ireland and the Wildcats after failing to settle in Waterford.
It put the club in a precarious spot with the opening round of the cup looming and now American players to add heft to the squad.
The management team sprung into action and after a quick series of phone calls to the States two new players were identified with two plane tickets arranged in fast order.
Mikayla Pivec and Nae Davidson arrived on Irish shores with two days to spare before the next league game. Basketball Ireland rules dictate that players must have played two league games before being eligible for the cup.
Pivec and Davidson were fired into the deep end that weekend, playing two games between Saturday and Monday, but having lined out for their new club in those games, were now eligible for the opening round of the cup with Glanmire, a game they would go on to win.
The pair sat down with WLR Sport to chat about being in Ireland and how they have found the sudden change of environment.
