Waterford FC are searching for a new manager following the departure of Danny Searle.

A club statement says he has been "relieved of his duties" as head coach.

Former Goalkeeper and First Team Coach, Brian Murphy, will take charge of the team on a temporary basis with Finn Harps coming to town on Friday.

Searle spent 10 months in charge of the side, taking up the role when the team were fifth in the table - as they are now once again.

He guided the Blues to the promotion playoff final as well as the FAI Cup semi-final, losing both games.

As he departs, the side are 10 points off first-placed Galway, while holding a game in hand on all teams above them in the table.

League Of Ireland commentator Oisin Langan spoke to WLR Sport to reflect on the decision to move on from Searle.
