The new Waterford Camogie manager Jerry Wallace was shaking with excitement this week after meeting his new players for the first time.

The Middleton native took the Déise reigns this week, replacing Sean Power who left the role in November after guiding the county to the All-Ireland final.

Wallace met his new squad of players on Thursday night to discuss plans for next season as well as setting out the training programs for the winter.

He takes over a team that made it to the All-Ireland final this year, ending a 78-year wait for a place in Croke Park. His stock of players is nothing to be sniffed at either with All-Stars up and down the squad, as well as the 2023 Player of the Year Beth Carton.

Wallace sat down with WLR Sport for his first interview as manager, telling Nigel Kelly that he could not wait to get started.
