On Wednesday, Waterford boxer Kelyn Cassidy missed out on his first chance at securing a place at the Paris Olympics.
He was beaten by Ukrainian Oleksandr Khyzhniak by a split decision on the judge's scorecards, with a contentious standing 10-count given to the Waterford boxer in the third round.
While Cassidy has missed out on this chance at qualifying, he will have further chances later this year and into 2024.
Kelyn's coach at Saviour's Crystal's Paul Simpson has been speaking to WLR Sport following the bout.
