As the final preparations for the 2023 Camogie All-Ireland are underway, it feels like an appropriate time to look back on the last time that Waterford played in the decider.
The Déise played Antrim in Cappoquin on the 17th of December having beaten Tipperary in the Munster final.
Normally, they would have played an All-Ireland semi-final, but owing to a dispute regarding the playing of foreign games, Leinster had withdrawn from the association, meaning Waterford would have no opponents, and therefore proceeded directly to the final.
This documentary casts a magnifying lens over the final, the game of camogie in 1945 and some of the social pressures that players faced at the time.
