Waterford FC suffered further playoff heartbreak last night as they lost out 1-0 to UCD at Richmond Park.
Thomas Lonergan's fifteenth minute strike proved decisive as Junior Quitirna missed a 93rd minute penalty to send the game to extra time.
The Blues are now resigned to another season in the First Division while UCD deservedly maintain their place at Irish football's top table.

"Naturally I'm disappointed - we weren't the best version of ourselves tonight. Credit to UCD, they will deserve to stay in the Irish Premier League."
