Dunhill will play in the Waterford Senior Hurling Championship for the first time since 2012 this afternoon.
The club face off with last year’s county finalists, Roanmore with throw-in at Walsh Park at 5.15pm.
Should Roanmore get the better of Dunhill, then they will progress as winners of Group C and book their place in the quarter-finals.
Dunhill GAA Club Chairman, Niall Dunphy, spoke with Jordan Norris on this week’s edition of Lár na Pairce.
He recalled the amazing feeling for the club when they got over the line in the county intermediate decider against An Rinn back in October - and says all in Dunhill are relishing the opportunity to be back at the Déise’s top table.
Niall noted the club are under no illusions as to how difficult the scale of the task ahead of them will be, and says their prerogative for the forthcoming season will be to simply maintain senior status.
He also spoke of how a merger with Bonmahon drove the club on following many near misses and heartbreaks along the way to last year’s success.
