World Environment Day was celebrated on Sunday, June 5th where this year's theme was 'Only One Earth'. It is led by the United Nations and celebrated by millions of people around the world.
Jayde Maher went to Tramore to talk to people there about what they are doing for the environment and why everyone should take action to care for our planet.
She spoke to a member of Tramore Tidy Towns, a science teacher at Ardscoil na Mara, and a lifeguard student who was picking up marine litter with friends.
All three people shared stories of the work that they do in Tramore to help care for the environment.
Members of the Tidy Towns committee meet on the Promenade every Sunday morning to do a beach clean, where they collect up to 15 bags of marine litter.
Patrick Kirwan, a science teacher at Ardscoil na Mara, runs a sustainability club after school. During this, he helps students to propagate their own plants and foods.
Patrick is a huge advocate for the environment and his passion is seen through his work and heard throughout this podcast.

The importance of caring for the environment is not limited to one day a year. Tomorrow, (June 8th) marks World Ocean Day. It is celebrated to highlight the important role the ocean has for our life and the planet.
Over 300 volunteers will take part in 10 different clean-ups that are taking part across Waterford this week.
