Tramore Eco Group have been appealing to the people of Waterford to stop feeding ducks and other foul bread.
The ingredients such as preservatives, are having a knock on effect on the ducks growth and lake life.
Afra Cronin, a founding member of Tramore Eco Group, told WLR all about the negative side effects it can have.
She explained how bread in duck feces causes a layer of scum to form on top of lakes.
This results in organisms at the bottom of the lake dying, as they don't have enough light.
Afra also told a story of signets who had been fed bread and their wings became deformed.
She shared some tips on how to tackle the problem and urges the public to feed our feathered friends natural foods instead.
