Waterford athletes Diane Behan and Siobhan Kennedy have won three gold medals between them at the Duathlon World Championships in Romania this weekend.

Both women spoke to Damien on Déise Today, live from Romania.

A duathlon involves a run, a cycle, and another run to finish.

There were two different distances: the Standard duathlon which comprises a 10k run, 40k cycle and 5k run, and the Sprint distance was half that.

Siobhán Kennedy told Damien that she went to the event expecting to only run won race, so the second Gold was "the icing on the cake."

While Diane explained her training regime and said she was thrilled with her timing on the day.
