Waterford FC in running for top award due to autism-friendly work!

WATERFORD FC is continuing to make waves with its autism-friendly inclusion work.

Indeed, such is the success of it to date, the club is now in the final four of clubs in Europe for a major award!

The award is the European Football for Development Network’s “More than Football” Award 2024.

Initially the club had made the long list of 10 but in the past fortnight received the great news that its now in the top four and has been invited along to the big awards night in Brussels in November.

Colin Power is Head of Community Development at Waterford FC.

This week, he spoke to Damien Tiernan at our Outside Broadcast at the 'Come and Try It' workshop for young people which was held at the Kingfisher Health Club (a collaboration between Active Cities Waterford and the Waterford Local Community Safety Partnership)

Colin recapped on the work that Waterford FC has been doing in the autism-friendly area, and spoke about the great excitement of the news of the past fortnight.
