A Waterford man who is the owner of Dingle Crystal has designed and cut the traditional Shamrock Bowl that will be presented to US President Joe Biden this week.
Sean Daly, who is originally from Butlerstown, is en-route to Washington currently after receiving a formal invite to attend the annual St Patrick's Day visit to the White House by the Taoiseach.
A former employee of Waterford Crystal, Sean previously operated a crystal-making company at Orchardstown in Butlerstown but moved to Dingle in 1999 with his late wife Liz.
He now employs 10 people at the company he started there - Dingle Crystal - which is one of few remaining studios specialising in hand-cut crystal.
This morning (Tuesday), Sean spoke to Damien on Deise Today about the honour of designing and cutting this year's Shamrock Bowl.
He also spoke extensively about his Waterford roots.
