38 year-old Tramore woman Jac Sinnott has been waiting for a life-changing surgery for over a year after being diagnosed with a serious brain condition.
Jac received her diagnosis in July 2021 and has been on a waiting list since.
Jac lives with her husband and her two kids and is part of CC Creatives in Waterford City.
She was diagnosed with a cavernous angioma which is a malformation in the brain's blood vessels.
It's 4.5cm x 3.5cm but is not a tumour.
Jac says when she first noticed symptoms of it she thought she was having a stroke, but a doctor told her it was "just one of those things" and sent her home with anti-nausea medication.
The malformation is sitting on her optic nerve which affects the area for motor function, resulting in her left eye having no peripheral vision.
Jac shared her experience of finding out about the malfunction, how it has affected her, and about how she has had to chase every appointment she's had.
She said she has taken to Twitter to try to get help because the longer it goes untreated, the higher the chance of a stroke.
