Leaving Covid to one side, needle spiking on nights out in Waterford and beyond is another safety issue that young people have raised on social media in recent weeks.Initial reports of alleged needle spiking incidents first surfaced on social media.
Since then the government confirmed that it's working on an awareness campaign with the Union of Students in Ireland around spiking.
As well as this serious matter, fears of assault and sexual misconduct are discouraging some young people from enjoying a 'night on the town'.
