Tuesday, September 27th is Budget Day.
Across the day on WLR, we'll have up-to-date Budget 2023 coverage across our on-air and online channels, in association with EY Waterford.
Experts from EY will take us through the pre and post-announcements including Ronan Clinton, Assurance Partner with EY who looked ahead to the day on Tuesday morning's Déise Today from 10am.
Joining Damien Tiernan at 11am live in our new studio was Ray Griffin, Strategic Management Lecturer at SETU - to discuss whether or not the government can afford a major giveaway budget bonanza.
They explored today's impending announcements against the backdrop of the cost of living crisis, the ongoing war in Ukraine, and huge issues emerging in currency exchange.
Mr. Griffin says there is fear out there in the economy.
"Ukraine kicks in - the energy crisis kicks in and inflation kicks in - there's a lot of pressure building up. Have they unloaded all their firepower today and will they be OK through the back-end of this? Those are the concerns that are out and about."
