Paul Flynn is 59.

He lives on his own in a large house in Slieverue.

His brain is fully functioning, he’s bright, he’s witty, he doesn’t do pity.

His hair is cut short, he tries to smile as much as possible but it’s hard.

He has multiple sclerosis, known as MS, and he says it developed after an accident he had in the early 2000s.

Paul's life now is effectively his armchair in which he sits every day of every week or every month.

He’s listening now after waking up in his chair, he’ll eat in his chair, sleep in his chair, and wake up again tomorrow in his chair.

His legs are gone. His condition is going to get worse. He’s existing – but is he living?
