The disappearance of Meg Walsh

TODAY (October 15) marks 15 years to the day since the body of Meg Walsh was recovered from the River Suir.
Meg, a mother of one and originally from Cork, was living in Ballinakill Downs in Waterford City.  She was initially reported missing on October 1, 2006, when she didn't show for work.

Extensive search for Meg

In the fortnight that followed, a major search took place across Waterford city for the 35-year-old woman.
To the devastation of her family, Meg's body was recovered from the River Suir on October 15th. A post-mortem later revealed that a brutal and violent assault had ultimately caused her death.
To date, nobody has been convicted of the death of the woman and gardai say their investigation remains ongoing.
